During an appearance on the “Theonemona” podcast ahead of TNA Bound for Glory 2024, Jeff Hardy revealed that the first ladder match between Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels inspired The Hardys’ careers.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On the match that inspired them the most: “Definitely when Shawn Michaels, ‘The Heartbreak Kid,’ and Razor Ramon had their ladder match many moons ago. We saw that match as teenagers and we started emulating what they did in the ring on our trampoline, and time would pass and we started doing that in real wrestling rings. And that really is our claim to fame when it comes to our careers.”
On their tag team ladder match at No Mercy 1999: “That first-ever tag team ladder match really changed our careers for the better extremely.”
During a recent appearance on the “Good Karma Wrestling” podcast, AEW wrestler Kris Statlander explained why she owes a lot to Orange Cassidy. She said,
“I will forever, when you asked me before [about] people that inspire me, I owe so much to Orange Cassidy. I know it’s not great for me to say that after I kind of turned on him and I punched him in the face, but I have a lot of regrets for doing that. He’s someone that so many people rely on. People may hate him, but I will always adore him as a person, as a wrestler. My experience with wrestling would be nowhere near as great as it was if Orange Cassidy wasn’t part of it.”
