TNA Wrestling has a new ring announcer, and it’s a familiar face and voice — former WWE backstage interviewer and broadcast team member McKenzie Mitchell.
Mitchell was actually an interviewer for TNA for several years (between 2016 and 2019) before she was brought onto the WWE team, primarily working for the NXT brand up until her release in 2023.
Since her release, Mitchell made it clear that she still had aspirations in the wrestling business, including wanting to have a WrestleMania moment of her own someday. There’s never been any reason given to her release, while her husband, Vic Joseph, continues to be the lead play-by-play commentator every Tuesday night on WWE NXT alongside Booker T.
Mitchell has now returned to TNA taking on a new role as the ring announcer at TNA Genesis, although we can assume if TNA decides to let her flex her interviewer skills, that she can likely be utilized in a variety of different capacities.
Congratulations to McKenzie Mitchell for joining the TNA team. Are you excited to see her back in the business? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
