New TNA Wrestling World Champion Nic Nemeth appreciates the freedom granted to those in TNA that he’s seen since joining the promotion.
Nemeth captured the title at TNA Slammiversary 2024 in a six-way elimination match that included Josh Alexander, Moose, Frankie Kazarian, Steve Maclin, and Joe Hendry.
On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, his first since winning the title, Nemeth spoke about his victory and time in TNA. He said,
“I feel fricking fantastic. I think there’s a thing where — it’s not always the case — but in this case, there’s a little bit of more artistic freedom with some pieces backstage, with the way the character goes, and it works for me in this company, but it doesn’t always work for everybody else. It’s so amazing to me.
“Someone like me, going 20 years exactly, and so few things light up my eyes and go, ‘Dammit, this is special. How can I run with this and make this a monumental thing?’ I will do what I have always done: Make the absolute most of it. I’m lucky to have this position, I’m going to spearhead it and lead the way to an amazing roster that I’m so proud of.”
Nemeth joined TNA Wrestling at the Hard to Kill pay-per-view event in January 2024 which marked the relaunch of the promotion after years as Impact Wrestling.
On the podcast, Nemeth also addressed the fan response to Joe Hendry not winning the gold at Slammiversary 2024. Click here to find out more.
