Vince Russo doesn’t care for comments that he put companies out of business with his writing, after recent criticism from John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield.
JBL and Russo have been at odds for years, with the WWE Hall of Famer recently claiming that Russo played a key role in TNA’s downfall.
On a recent edition of his “Writing with Russo” podcast, Russo questioned how he can be blamed for the downfall of an active promotion. He said,
“Say whatever you want about me; you are never gonna erase the numbers. You know so, so whatever company I bankrupted, whatever company I put out of business, it just makes me laugh, bro.
“I don’t know if I bankrupted TNA or put TNA out of business, I don’t know which one he is talking about. But he is working at TNA these days, so how is that even… cause if I bankrupted them, they are out of business, right?”
JBL debuted for TNA last year and the former WWE World Champion has appeared several times for the promotion.
Russo joined TNA in 2002 as a writer and has claimed the name of the company came from him. He would later become an on-screen personality.
In 2007, chants calling for Russo to be fired were heard on TNA pay-per-view events as the number of odd gimmick matches increased. He became head of creative in 2009.
