The ratings for Total Divas took a disastrous fall in the season nine premiere. Last night’s season premiere brought in a 0.11 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and 252,000 viewers. That’s down 54% and 55% from the season seven premiere in November of 2017, and down a stunning 67% and 62% from the the season seven finale in January of 2018.
There’s no way to paint this other than bad news. However, there are reasons for the drop. Season eight of the show aired at 9 PM, which will always have a much higher audience than the 10 PM slot of last night’s premiere. But even taking that into account, this is an issue for the series. The numbers were by far the lowest for Total Divas, shattering the previous floor of the 0.17 demo rating and 461,000 from the episode airing November 23rd, 2016; which was the second episode of season six.
Total Divas ranked #79 for the night among cable originals per Showbuzz Daily, with the Major League Baseball Wild Card game winning the night (1.33 demo rating, 4.732 million viewers).
