Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is backstage toxicity in WWE and NXT, which has only been fueled by those who are influential backstage that doesn’t want Triple H in charge.
This report comes after WWE released several NXT stars last Friday. It was said that Triple H and Shawn Michaels didn’t even know about the cuts before John Laurinaitis had started calling talent about them. This is despite the WWE Hall of Famers running NXT.
Vince McMahon, Nick Khan, and Laurinaitis were who made the cuts. There are some Triple H’s detractors who don’t want him to take over from McMahon and they now have ammunition to convince McMahon that Triple H isn’t fit for the job. That ammo is the result of NXT losing out to AEW on Wednesday nights.
Meltzer noted that the “toxicity” is what led to NXT Champion Karrion Kross having lost twice out of his four matches on Raw since debuting.
