WWE got some good news in the ratings department this week as the numbers for SmackDown Live! were up for the second week in a row. Tuesday night’s broadcast followed up on last week’s post-WrestleMania 33 SmackDown Live! ratings increase, actually drawing higher ratings and bringing in the best numbers for the show in over nine months. Tuesday’s “Superstar Shakeup” SmackDown Live! broadcast did a 1.05 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic, with 3.105 million viewers. Those numbers are up 7% and 8% from the previous week’s post-WrestleMania 33 show, which drew a 0.98 demo rating, with 2.885 million viewers. Both the demographic and viewership numbers represented the best the show has done since the July 19th, 2016 episode. That was was a “Draft” special and was also SmackDown!’s heavily-promoted live debut on USA Network.
WWE and USA Network officials have to be encouraged by the numbers as SmackDown!’s rise contrasts with RAW’s downward tick this week following its post-WrestleMania 33 bounce. It should be noted that RAW saw a larger jump last week following the pay-per-view than SmackDown Live! did.
Among cable originals for the night, Showbuzz Daily is reporting that SmackDown Live! ranked #1. Chrisley Knows Best, which follows WWE SmackDown Live! on the USA Network, came in at #2 with a 0.75 demo rating and 1.949 million viewers.
