As we reported earlier this morning by our own Stefano Briganti (see link below), Cody and Brandi Rhodes have officially made their exit from AEW in an abrupt fashion. Statements were released by both Cody and Brandi Rhodes, thanking AEW President and CEO Tony Khan, and the AEW fanbase for what they’ve been able to create during their time with the organization. Tony Khan also issued a statement thanking Cody and Brandi for their contributions, showing much love and appreciation for all they’ve done for AEW and wishing them all the best in their future endeavors.

To follow up on the above, we have now received an update that seems to hint that Cody Rhodes is in talks with WWE officials for a potential return to the company. The Mat Men Podcast’s Andrew Zarian is reporting that Cody is in talks with WWE at this time.
Zarian said: “I can confirm that Cody’s camp has been in contact with WWE officials”.
Additionally, MMA Fighting and BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani are reporting that these talks may see Cody Rhodes back in WWE “in the near future”, meaning there is a chance that we see him back with WWE prior to or perhaps after WrestleMania 38 in April.
Huge developing news in the world of pro wrestling:
Cody Rhodes is leaving AEW, sources say.
And I’m told Rhodes and WWE are in fact talking about him returning to the organization in the near future, I’m told.

Whether or not that will happen at this point in time remains to be seen, but we will keep you all up-to-date on any future talks regarding Cody and Brandi Rhodes’ AEW departures, and the potential for a WWE return down the road.
