Major League Wrestling has announced that Calvin Tankman has been added to MLW Battle Riot V, which will emanate from the iconic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 8. As previously noted, MLW Battle Riot V will then air on REELZ on April 25 at 10est/pst.
The following wrestlers have been announced for the Battle Riot V match so far: Calvin Tankman, Jacob Fatu, John Hennigan, Raven, Willie Mack, Alex Kane, Rickey Shane, Page, Shigehiro Irie, Mance Warner, Matthew Justice, Lance Anoa’i, Sam Adonis, Mr. Thomas, 1 Called Manders, and Jimmy Lloyd.
A Battle Riot Match is a mash-up of a traditional Battle Royal and a Street Fight, with 40 wrestlers competing for an anytime, anywhere, shot at the World Heavyweight Championship (the winner essentially holding the same privilege as the Money in the Bank contract holder in WWE). Eliminations occur by pinfall, submission or by throwing an individual over the top rope.
Also at Battle Riot V, Alex Hammerstone will defend the MLW World Heavyweight Championship against Real1.
In other news, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Paul London is set to be inducted into the Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame’s Class of 2023 by GCW. He will be joining Excalibur, Jimmy Jacobs, Christopher Daniels, Mike Modest, and Cheerleader Melissa.
