According to a report from the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, IMPACT Wrestling president Ed Nordholm is the one who took Brian Cage to the hospital following the injury he suffered at the Rebellion pay-per-view.
According to the report, Ed spent 12 hours in the hospital with his brand new World Heavyweight Champion.
Regarding the status of Cage, he is reported to be not doing nearly as well as he would have hoped by this point. Cage was supposed to defend his newly won championship against Sami Callihan at the Code Red special on IMPACT Plus this past weekend, Callihan ended up fighting Tommy Dreamer in a Street Fight instead.
They’re not yet removing the championship off of Cage and on TV, they are simply saying it was the debuting Michael Elgin is the one that sent him to the hospital.
