During Sunday night’s WWE Clash of Champions Kickoff show, it was confirmed that Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, and Nikki Cross were “not medically cleared” to compete. Charlie Caruso then confirmed that the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and SmackDown Women’s Championship matches would not be taking place. Bayley will still be on the show to address the situation with her championship.
As we previously reported here on eWn, the reason they aren’t there is due to COVID-19 related issues. There has been another outbreak in the company and while it started in developmental, it has now hit the main roster. WWE has refused to address COVID-19 since the pandemic began. The words “COVID-19” and “coronavirus” are said to be two of Vince McMahon’s banned terms these days despite the reality of the situation. Instead, WWE goes with “not medically cleared to compete.”
