Artem Chigvintsev has denied claims he intends to reconcile with Nikki Garcia after the former WWE Superstar filed for divorce last month.
Garcia filed for divorce on September 11, after Chigvintsev was arrested for alleged domestic violence, though charges have not been filed.
In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Chigvintsev denied recent reports stating that he wanted to get back with Garcia. He said,
“The reporting that I wanted to reconcile with Nikki is incorrect.”
According to his attorney Ilona Antonyan, Chigvintsev has had no communication with Garcia, known to WWE fans as Nikki Bella, since early October.
Both Garcia and Chigvintsev have alleged that the other was violent during a breakfast on August 29, which also included the couple’s son Matteo.
Garcia has sought sole custody of Matteo with visitation rights for Chigvintsev, who has sought joint custody of the four-year-old.
