During a recent appearance on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, AAA booker Konnan reflected on his relationship with Eric Bischoff, acknowledging that their friendship has not always been as harmonious as it is today.
Konnan said, “Eric isn’t given enough credit for enough stuff that he did. We’re real good friends now. But he did make a lot of mistakes, you know. And you could see him getting burnt out. When Eric first came in, he was very accessible, very easy to work with … [but] two, three years in, bro, we were butting heads all the f***ing time, like, me and him, personally. We went round for round for him taking off Rey Mysterio’s mask when I told him not to do it. That was a big acrimonious situation between me and him.”
On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, AJ Francis opened up about his close bond with WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry.
Francis described Henry as a mentor figure, referring to him as a “second dad.” The reigning TNA Digital Media Champion also mentioned Henry’s appearance on his behalf at MLW Battle Riot VI.
Francis said, “A lot of people don’t know this, but Mark is like a second dad to me and I don’t say that just cause he literally looks just like my dad. He has looked out for me, especially in this business, he gives me sound advice, he’s always willing to lend a helping hand [and has] put me in connections with people so many different times. I didn’t know Mark was actually going to be one of the elders until I showed up. To have somebody like Mark come and just add that extra ‘oomph’ [to] make sure more people see it, it’s amazing, man. I can’t thank Mark enough and Teddy enough.”
