FOX streaming service Tubi has expressed interest in acquiring professional wrestling content to augment its offerings.
Fightful is reporting that Tubi seeks to invest in a wrestling product, although specific details remain undisclosed. The service seeks to develop a unique offering rather than partnering with an existing wrestling promotion.
Tubi previously endeavored to bring MLW (Major League Wrestling) to its platform in 2021, but the deal fell through.
MLW alleged that a Tubi executive was influenced by then-WWE CEO Stephanie McMahon to prevent MLW from securing a slot on Tuesday nights, resulting in the termination of the agreement.
Thereafter, MLW filed a lawsuit against WWE, and the case was eventually resolved through a settlement.
