Ric Flair Shares The Few Wrestling Legends He Still Speaks To

Ric Flair may have faced some of wrestling’s greatest legends, but the Nature Boy doesn’t talk with as many legends as he once used to.

On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Flair discussed how he’s not in talks with people like he was in the past. He said,

“I was talking to Ashley (Charlotte) yesterday and I said it’s just a whole new time in life. It’s funny but – I don’t mean funny by we don’t talk to him but, like Steve [Austin] has just disappeared. I would talk to him once a week, twice a week, once a month. I haven’t talked to Steve in a year.”

“I talk to ‘Taker occasionally and I see Foley at signings and HBK, but if you look at all the guys that were around, the names – the generational guys you would call talent or the great workers or biggest stars or Mr. WrestleMania or whatever, they’re all gone. It’s a whole new era, guys.”

Flair and Austin were at odds in 2002 shortly after Ric’s return to the company and the pair would face off in a handicap match at that year’s Judgment Day pay-per-view event.

Flair and Foley would feud in 2006 over comments Flair made about Mick in his autobiography. The pair would have bloody matches at Vengeance and SummerSlam 2006.

Ric Flair was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008 & 2012 while Austin was inducted in 2009. Foley took his place in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.
