On a recent edition of his “1 Of A Kind” podcast, Rob Van Dam discussed Joe Hendry’s meteoric rise in TNA Wrestling, his experience working with Bam Bam Bigelow, and more.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On Joe Hendry’s rise: “I don’t know, it seems like people like him. I look in the chat room and it seems like people think he’s funny and stuff. That’s cool. So good luck. Good luck, Joe Hendry.”

On wrestling Bam Bam Bigelow in ECW: “I like the chemistry between him and me, you know. And again, like I was at that point where I just felt indestructible. Like whoever it is, you know what I mean? Like one, I’m not gonna get hurt. In my mind. I was invincible, you know? So two, I’m gonna bring it. Everyone knows I’m gonna bring it, so they know they have to bring it too. And that’s how I felt. With my ego, but also with my engagement with the ECW vibe and being the whole F’n Show. Boom, I loved all of it. And Bam Bam was as big of a battle in the ring. You know, like we both f**king had to, made each other work for everything. But also, I enjoyed his company.”

On the WWE locker room reaction to him doing head kicks with chairs: “They didn’t like it so much when I showed up to WWE and was kicking chairs into people’s heads. It depended. Some of the wrestlers didn’t like it, because they weren’t used to it. Vince liked it. They were trying to give me heat, but I didn’t have any heat. I only had heat with them, and they weren’t going to do s**t about it. I mean, not to talk like tough, but that really was the f**king — that really was the condition. If somebody was really offended, I would just be like, ‘Alright, you know what? You owe me. Go out, take it right now. Go and give it back to me.’ That’s the way that I was taught. Ya know, boom, boom.”
