A new trial date for Ted DiBiase Jr.’s criminal fraud case has been set.

As we previously reported here on eWn, the trial for Ted DiBiase Jr.’s fraud case was postponed after several motions were submitted weeks ago. The case was set for a new date of August 26th, but it has now been brought forward.

A hearing has been scheduled for January 7th, 2025, before The Mississippi Southern District Court.

DiBiase Jr. was charged in April with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and theft in connection with programs receiving federal funding, six counts of wire fraud, two counts of theft concerning federal funds, and four counts of money laundering related to the Mississippi welfare fraud scandal. He has pleaded not guilty.

The trial was initially set to commence on June 20 before the government requested a delay due to the extensive discovery that both parties needed to evaluate.

The allegations pertain to the misuse of funds from the Mississippi Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs.

If convicted, DiBiase Jr. could face a maximum penalty of five years for the conspiracy charge, up to 20 years for each wire fraud count, and 10 years for each count of theft and money laundering.
