Yesterday, here on eWN we reported that Ric Flair asked for his release from WWE and was granted it. Today, WWE has officially confirmed his release. The following statement was posted on WWE’s official website:

It is interesting to note that WWE didn’t wish him the best in his future endeavors. As previously reported here on eWN, Flair personally called Vince McMahon and cited “creative decisions” as his desire to leave the company.
