The recent allegations of domestic abuse leveled at Nash Carter were reportedly not a factor in WWE’s decision to release the NXT Tag Team Champion.
This week, Carter was released from his contract despite being one-half of the current NXT Tag Team Champions with Wes Lee.
On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the circumstances behind Nash Carter’s firing from WWE and said that the allegations would not lead to his release:
“You have to understand Vince McMahon. Vince McMahon had allegations against him multiple times over the years. So, if he is to believe that [Carter] is innocent, then he has to presume that other people that claims are made [about] may be innocent. So he’s not a guy who is gonna fire everybody the minute somebody says something.”
Meltzer added that WWE President Nick Khan comes from a career in the criminal justice system before he became an agent in Hollywood and believes that you can’t get rid of someone without proof.
As part of her claims against Carter, Kimber Lee posted a photo of Nash impersonating Nazi leader Adolf Hitler:
“This is a really weird situation because he was fired for the Hitler picture. The other allegations is not what he was fired for.”
WWE has not publicly commented on this situation or what they have planned for the NXT Tag Team Titles.
