WWE RAW (1/15/2024)
Cody Rhodes talks about a song, and him fighting Shinsuke Nakamura. Or we could talk about why he is standing in the ring. He is not planning on stopping… Drew McIntyre interrupts. He reminds them of how they grew up together in WWE, and that he is proud of him. Proud of the man and performer he has become. He can’t help but think back to when they were tag team champions. They didn’t embrace that opportunity. They had to leave WWE to get a new perspective. Outside of WWE, they laid the blueprint for what it takes to get the callback.
He tells Cody to keep working hard, and he will be the first in his family to raise the championship. He will finish his story, but not before he finishes his. Cody tells Drew he could win the Royal Rumble. So could Jey Uso, or CM Punk. You can’t count anyone out. McIntyre gives him some advice. Be himself. Get rid of the suits, the big words, and the cheesy smile. Be the real Cody. If anyone has an issue with that, he can drop them. Cody tells him this is not an act. He smiles because this is what he loves. He is thankful, grateful, and relish his second chance. Drew is standing here, complaining about his.
McIntyre tries to figure out what Cody’s angle is. He is standing in his way. When Drew is 100% himself, he isn’t standing in the way of business, he is the damn business. Cody tells Drew he only looks to his heart, and to the people, when he thinks about finishing the story. And because he brought it up… who won their last match together? Cody drops the mic and leaves.
Backstage, Damian Priest tells R-Truth to get serious for a moment. He needs to stop selling their merchandise. Truth hands him a stack of cash, and Priest quickly changes his tune. In tonight’s match, Priest tells Truth not to tag in.

Ludwig Kaiser introduces the longest reigning Intercontinental Championship, Gunther. They are two weeks away from the Royal Rumble, and Gunther can feel, and almost smell the desperation around here. As they are in Arkansas, he can smell excrement too. What he saw in previous weeks was other superstars arguing over who will win the Royal Rumble. So, he came back to remind everyone one thing.
Last year, he entered as #1, and made it all the way to the end. He was one elimination away from winning. He lasted longer than anyone before. He is going to win the Royal Rumble and main event WrestleMania. Now, he wants to focus on Ludwig. Let’s take a moment to review what happened while he was away. Kaiser showed courage, so Gunther tells him well done before giving him a hug. Xavier Woods interrupts them. He tells Ludwig that he has a problem. Kofi Kingston is not here tonight because of him. Woods is here to fight him in a match, or does he have to ask daddy for permission?
Gunther gives Kaiser the microphone. What he did to Kofi last week is nothing compared to what he will do to Woods tonight. He will take his head as well.
#3. Xavier Woods vs. Ludiwg Kaiser – Winner: Kaiser via disqualification
They continue to fight after the bell, with a bloodied Xavier Woods overcoming Kaiser. After the break, we see Kaiser attack Woods backstage, and Jey Uso saves his former rival.
#4. Ivar (w/ Valhalla) vs. Akira Tozawa (w/ Maxxine Dupri) – Winner: Tozawa
After the match, Ivar destroyed Tozawa with the Doomsault.
Rhea Ripley makes her way to the ring to address her upcoming title match. She says that she is so sick and tired of people like Nia Jax running their mouths. This is her division, and this is why she has this championship. Whoever wins the Royal Rumble match, don’t waste the opportunity on her at WrestleMania, because Mami is always on top. Becky Lynch crashes her address.
The Man says they are very different people from foreign lands, and are two of the best to ever do it. Both went from being afterthoughts at WrestleMania, to being faces of the industry the next. One of them went on to win the main event of WrestleMania, while the other did not. One of them has a natural ability in this ring that is unmatched. The other has a heart of a lion. Here they stand, the best two to do it.
There’s this voice in her head saying to her, she thinks she might be better. Becky needs to prove that she isn’t. To do that, she needs to take that title, and to do that, she needs to win the Royal Rumble. Lynch needs to declare it Mami vs. The Man at WrestleMania. Ripley says there is only one person who wants to see her win it more than her. See you at WrestleMania.
Backstage, Seth Rollins says the only thing she can to take the World Championship to WrestleMania is to keep being who he is. The thing between him and Jinder Mahal goes way back. He is not the same Mahal he fought to become the first NXT Champion. He is ready for this.
#5. The Miz & R-Truth vs. Judgment Day’s Damian Priest & Finn Balor – Winners: Judgment Day
Jinder Mahal is focused ahead of the main event. He has heard the whispers. His whole career has led to this moment. When he wins, he will unite the world.
Shinsuke Nakamura continues to threaten Cody Rhodes, but for now, he turns his attention to the Royal Rumble. He will feast on the dreams of his 29 opponents.

#7. [World Heavyweight Championship] Seth Rollins (c) vs. Jinder Mahal (w/ Indus Sher) – Winner: Seth Rollins retains
