Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns had their first verbal confrontation in the ring on Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
Rhodes mentioned the mountains he had to climb in his career when Reigns used Cody’s “what do you want to talk about” catchphrase. The American Nightmare also mentioned the 2018 AEW All In pay-per-view event in response to goalposts shifting over time.
The Tribal Chief responded by bringing up the late Dusty Rhodes and impersonating him. Dusty, according to Reigns, had declared that The Big Dog “had it” but never mentioned his son Cody.
“He never said anything ever about you,” Reigns said.
Cody expressed that if that is indeed the case, he must prove his existence and legitimacy by dethroning Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 39. Both men then shook hands to end the segment.
