Sheamus and Drew McIntyre both scored pinfalls in the marquee Fatal 5-Way bout on WWE SmackDown to determine the next challenger for reigning WWE Intercontinental Championship GUNTHER at WrestleMania 39.
Friday’s episode saw Sheamus, McIntyre, Xavier Woods, L.A. Knight, and Karrion Kross battle it out in the ring. The match concluded when Shemaus pinned Woods at the same time that McIntyre pinned Knight, leading to some confusion over who was the actual winner. Following the bell, Sheamus and McIntyre confronted each other as the crowd chanted “Triple Threat!” The Celtic Warrior and The Scottish Psycopath then got into it again backstage.
WWE is yet to announce who GUNTHER will defend the Intercontinental Title against at WrestleMania 39.
