— WWE.com has an article up talking about the evolution of the RAW set over the years. At the end of the article, it teases the idea of a new set design, saying:
“it’s on this set that Raw will celebrate its 1,000th episode … unless, of course, the stage evolves again.”
The episode will go down next month on July 23rd.
— DGUSA and EVOLVE have announced that EVOLVE’s debut Florida iPPVs this month will be the company’s second annual Style Battle Tournament. The shows take place June 28th in Ybor City, June 29th in St. Petersburg and June 30th in Jacksonville and will feature a new version of the Style Battle concept with the four competitors facing off In a round robin-style tournament over the three shows. AR Fox will represent high-flying, while Lince Dorado will represent lucha libre; the other two are not yet confirmed. All three shows will be double headers, with live shows from Florida Underground Wrestling starting at 7:30 PM and then EVOLVE following. The first two nights will be iPPVs and the third may be as well if the venue can support it. Colt Cabana is debuting for EVOLVE on the Ybor City show against Chuck Taylor; El Generico vs. Samuray del Sol is also set for that night as well as a “SHINE Preview bout” with Sara del Rey vs. Santana Garett. The June 29th show will include Johnny Gargano vs. Chuck Taylor, El Generico vs. Silas Young and several tournament matches, while June 30th will have the tournament finals and Chuck Taylor vs. Samuray del Sol.
— WWE promoted Steve Austin’s new show Redneck Island today on WWE.com. The show premieres Saturday on CMT at 10 PM ET. As expected, the company didn’t bring up ames Storm’s entrance theme being used as the theme song for the show.
