As we reported on Thursday here on eWn, Dijak took to Twitter to announce that his WWE contract is expiring tomorrow and he will be departing the company. The recently drafted RAW star said WWE had informed him that they would not be re-signing him.
According to a report from Fightful Select, the company notified Dijak that he would not be re-signed following his WWE Speed match with Xavier Woods that was filmed over the past few weeks.
It is said that Dijak was well liked in both WWE and NXT, with one source confirming that he was set for a NXT Championship match before he was called up to RAW. It is said that Shawn Michaels was a big supporter of his, even with some minor creative differences between them in the past. Dijak wasn’t a regular on RAW after being called up, and he says he knew something was up when he wasn’t in the plans for the first couple of weeks.
It is also said that Dijak wasn’t brought to the TV tapings several times after his call-up. Additionally, his plans would often get moved between the WWE Main Event and WWE Speed TV tapings. He was also never planned for an appearance on RAW.
According to someone close to Dijak, there were some early negotiations that had begun and they had been positive. With that being said, WWE did not reach out to Dijak again until he was told his contract would not be renewed.
It is said that there are a lot of people who are interested in Dijak both inside and outside of the wrestling world. At least two promotions are expected to reach out to him for possible appearances.
