High stakes were on the line in a tag team bout on this week’s WWE SmackDown as Queen of the Ring and WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax teamed up with Ms. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton to face Bayley and Naomi with a two-way stipulation in tact.
As agreed upon last week, if either Bayley or Naomi were to lose, they would be forced to leave the SmackDown roster. However, if either one of them were to be victorious, whoever scored the pin would be granted a title shot for the WWE Women’s Championship.
Among the confusion of the match, referee Jessika Carr seemingly lost track of who were the legal competitors, even counting a double pinfall at one point (which wouldn’t have made any sense). This continued into the finish, wherein both Bayley and Naomi held Jax down in a roll-up pinning combination.
Despite the clunky execution, which even saw Naomi’s feet under the ropes (which was naturally ignored), the pinfall was counted and the match was officially awarded to the team of Bayley and Naomi without any clarification of who would be designated the true winner and rightful heir of the No. 1 contender’s position.
Wait…what?!

Not too long after, a backstage segment aired with Naomi and Bayley speaking to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, who decided the fairest thing to do would be to book a match between them next week to settle who will get the title shot.
