Booker T is pleased that the upcoming Logan Paul vs. Cody Rhodes match will be only for Rhodes’ WWE Championship when they face off in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The two will face off during the WWE King & Queen of the Ring pay-per-view event and despite Paul being the U.S. Champion, his gold will not be on the line.
On a recent edition of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T shared why he agrees with this match not being ‘winner takes all.’ He said,
“Cody’s title should just be on the line. Me personally, you know me, I’m not often into one guy having two titles even though I’ve been double champ before and it felt good. It felt really, really good, but I’m not one to take that route as far as one guy having two titles.
“A matchup like this, I feel like the big title, Cody Rhodes’ title, should be on the line in this matchup just to make it a little bit more intriguing … Cody, he’s smart man. Logan Paul, he’s a guy that has shown that he can go out and do it under the bright lights, under the biggest stages. He’s shown that he can go out and perform. With Cody Rhodes, together, those guys can go out there and create some beautiful magic.”
Ironically, Booker T was the WCW World and WCW United States Champion when WCW was purchased by WWE in 2001 and he would arrive in the company as a double champion.
This match will be Paul’s second WWE Championship opportunity after previously facing Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel 2022.
