WWE Hall of Famer Booker T is focused on bringing former MLW Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu to WWE, the NXT commentator has revealed.
On a recent edition of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T was asked about Fatu potentially joining WWE and admitted that he wants to make it happen. He said,
“That’s my game plan. I’m working as hard as I possibly can.”
Booker T added that Fatu has been working hard and has atoned for his criminal history which includes being arrested for robbery when he was 18. He said,
“This guy that’s been out there working his a** off out there on the indie scene. Grinding, and the thing is, sometimes we make mistakes, but when we atone for those mistakes. That’s when you know somebody just needs to give you a chance, and for me, someone gave me a chance, and look what it done for me. Someone needs to give Jacob Fatu a chance, and I’m going to be working in his corner as his advisor to get him all the way to the next level and over it if we possibly can.”
Fatu is part of the Anoa’i family and is the cousin of Jimmy and Jey Uso. Fatu has said that watching the Usos on TV while behind bars inspired him to become a wrestler.
Fatu’s 817-day reign as MLW World Heavyweight Champion is the longest in company history. He debuted for New Japan Pro Wrestling at Battle in the Valley earlier this month.
