On a recent edition of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T discussed Kevin Owens challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at Bash In Berlin 2024, Chris Jericho’s ability to draw heat, and more.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens: “Sometimes you have to go in cold to be able to create an angle. This might be the beginning of something getting ready to start, or it might just be a cold match where KO is getting a shot at the title. We don’t know if he’s gonna turn on Cody Rhodes or anything like that. Or it could be a match where they go straight up, and they go out and just give us a five-star match at the Bash. It could be that. I never really try to look too far into it. But I do know this: if they do go out and give me a banger of a match, I’m gonna be damn happy. I’m gonna be saying that with a damn good match. Now, if they do go out there and Kevin Owens happened to flip the script and something happened, and he goes in a different angle, totally changed from Kevin Owens where we’re looking at him right now, that might happen as well. But I’m not going to look too far into it before that actually happens. I think that’s where we get caught up a little bit sometimes.”
On Chris Jericho having good heat in wrestling: “Chris Jericho had good heat throughout his career. He was a guy who pretty much believed in his talent. He was really that good coming up, he truly was. He is a true man’s man, as far as I’m concerned. As far as the business goes, he didn’t mind getting into a fight. He would fight back whether he was going to win the fight or not, or whether you thought he was going to win the fight or not. That’s what I mean, you know. And a lot of guys would rather not fight because they don’t want to get heat. But sometimes you fight, and you get respect. People might want to say something, but they don’t want to say it in front of your face.”
