Bron Breakker has won the Intercontinental Championship, defeating Sami Zayn at WWE SummerSlam 2024 in Cleveland, OH.
After coming up short against Zayn at WWE Money in the Bank 2024 in Toronto, Breakker found his way into a second chance after beating Ilja Dragunov by referee decision on Monday Night RAW. That loss had sparked “The Unpredictable Badass” to kick his intensity into an even higher gear, and his tenacity ever since has been absolutely ruthless.
Zayn, of course, had defeated GUNTHER — the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWE history — in an upset at WWE WrestleMania XL at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He mostly retained his championship in a feud with Chad Gable over the past few months, but The Underdog from the Underground couldn’t get the job done this time.
It took a few spears along the way, but ultimately, a high-impact tackle after running the ropes full speed was able to put Zayn down for the count.

This is Breakker’s first title win on the main roster, after he had previously held the NXT Championship twice and NXT Tag Team Championship once (alongside Baron Corbin).
