During the 2024 WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view event, CM Punk attacked Drew McIntyre, spoiling his Money In The Bank cash-in and allowing Damian Priest to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins.
On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray compared the ongoing feud between McIntyre and Punk to the dynamic of Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner from the classic animated Looney Tunes series.
Ray said, “It almost feels very Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner-esque right now. The Road Runner always got the best of Wile E. Coyote. I’m not even so sure that if McIntyre gets his hands on Punk, people are gonna care. They might even boo, despite the fact that he would be right because they’re not eye-for-an-eye right now. Punk has taken both of Drew’s eyes and a nut.”
Following WWE Money In The Bank 2024, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce fined Punk and McIntyre. Pearce took further action by suspending McIntyre and doubling his fine.
