During a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray discussed how the main event from last Monday’s episode of WWE RAW featuring Jey Uso and Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Title set the stage for a future rivalry between Breakker and Jacob Fatu.
Tommy Dreamer commended the intensity of the match between Jey and Breakker.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
Bully Ray on Bron Breakker and Jacob Fatu: “The moment of that main event was when Bron Breakker and Jacob Fatu got face-to-face right in front of the announce table on the floor. That moment — that was the planting of a seed … right there. You can always go back to that moment in time.”
On how Breakker vs. Fatu could be a huge feud in the coming years: “I can see that being a hell of a feud for the WWE for years to come.”
Tommy Dreamer on the intensity between Bron Breakker and Jey Uso: “I loved the layering of everybody getting in the match. When [Jey] hit those superkicks and he laid out the Bloodline, everything was moving, and I was just like, man, they’re gonna go this route. It [would be] an interesting story if the International title was involved, but again, there’s a bigger picture for all of this. When he hit that splash and [Bron] kicked out … I was like, wow. They are gonna switch the title.
On wrestlers needing to bring that kind of intensity to the ring: “That’s the kind of match and the intensity everybody needs to bring, and when I say everybody, that’s how you need to run the ropes, that’s how you need to deliver your moves. … And I know, jet lag, men are tired. Women are tired. But you have to constantly deliver. That’s why I always say, to be a professional wrestler on television, it’s the hardest job in sports. There are no days off. You’re not playing a football game every single day of the week.”
