During a new episode of “WWE Retrospective,” Carlito commented on his WWE debut.
During the show, The Judgment Day member also revealed that John Cena was the person who suggested he use the Backstabber as his finisher.
Carlito said, “I took a liking to the backstabber. I didn’t use it as a finisher. Backstabber. I remember Cena was one of the first ones to point out at me. He goes, ‘Man, that looks like great move. You should use it as a finisher.’ I was like, ‘Ehh…’ But he kind of like, kept on, you know, getting me to try and do it, so I was like, ‘Alright, you know what I mean? Nobody else does the move like that. So that’s it.’ And then it just took off from there.”
Tony D’Angelo wants to bring some Italian flair to his WWE NXT North American Championship.
During a recent appearance on “The Ringer Wrestling Show,” the reigning NXT North American Champion commented on what he wants to do with the title and expressed his desire to see The Don have a business meeting with Shawn Michaels.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On bringing some Italian flair to the title: “I’m going to speak to Shawn (Michaels) and request that we get some kind of Italian flair to the title. It’s a nice looking belt, don’t get me wrong, it’s a good looking belt. The red, white, and green would give it a little more pop. We’ll see what I can do.”
On wanting The Don to have a business meeting with Shawn Michaels: “We’ll see if The Don can have a business meeting with Shawn, and I might have to bring Luca and Stacks, I’m not going to intimidate the guy, I would never do that, they are just my business associates. Luca is a lawyer, he has to write down the paperwork. We’ll get some flair on this thing.”
