During a recent appearance on the “Gorilla Position” podcast, Carmelo Hayes shared his thoughts on the journey from NXT to the main roster, emphasizing that the two environments are entirely distinct.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On how Trick Williams would do on the main roster: “I don’t know what he can do on the main roster because it’s yet to be seen. This is a whole different beast. NXT is one thing. When I got here, it was a whole brand new thing for me. I had to figure it out on my own, so that’s yet to be seen.”

On his own move to WWE Smackdown: “It wasn’t easy and it’s still not easy. I’m still trying to figure out my footing and things like that. It’s easy to be the big fish in the small pond, but when you come up where everybody’s a shark and all these guys have been doing it for a long period of time, you have to find out. Get in where you fit in.”

During a recent appearance on the “That’s Wrestling” podcast, Low Ki remembered his time in WWE when he was paired up with Michelle McCool and Layla, reflecting on his experiences with the pair.

Low Ki participated in the second season of NXT as Kaval and was paired with LayCool as their “rookie.”

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On working with the two: “For me, working with Layla and working with Michelle McCool, it was relaxing, because they were so goofy. They would actually tone down my intensity. One, I knew nobody there was my friend. Two, I know the nature of the environment, and I know the nature of the people who make the decisions there. These are bad people. So for those two women to actually be as goofy as they were, they were friendly. They weren’t headaches.”

On helping them in the ring: “I would help them, too. I’d help them in the ring. We’d warm up. We’d do things. Layla would come and ask me questions about certain moves. So it was a friendly interaction, and we developed a friendly chemistry with each other, but we were being manipulated by the morons in management.”
