Fans can expect to see Cedric Alexander in WWE NXT for a long time to come after picking up a long-overdue victory on this week’s show.
During WWE NXT: Great American Bash (Week One), Alexander defeated Brooks Jensen, all while Shawn Spears watched on with interest.
In a WWE NXT ‘Digital Exclusive’, Alexander addressed this latest run in NXT and plans on sticking around for the foreseeable future. He said,
“It’s been an experience. It’s like going back to high school again. You see a bunch of new friends, see a bunch of old friends you haven’t seen in a long time, and it’s good to mix it up with the people every once in a while. But yeah, I’m enjoying my time here. I think I might be here for a long time.”
Alexander also addressed Shawn Spears watching his match against Jensen. He said,
“Shawn Spears, me and him go back a long way. He’s had a very shady past, to say the least. But the difference between me and Shawn Spears, I’m here to help the young talent, compete with them. He’s here to use them for his own means and manipulate them to do whatever he wants them to do. As you can see, from Brooks Jensen, the angry young man that he is, Mr. Spears’ methods do not work.”
This was Alexander’s first singles win this year. While Alexander had won at a set of WWE Speed tapings earlier this year, these matches were never shared on Twitter.
