Charlie Dempsey wasn’t the only new champion crowned on the August 13, 2024 episode of WWE NXT, as the tag team titles now have new owners as well.
In the main event of the night, Chase University’s Andre Chase and Ridge Holland were able to take down the current reigning champions, Axiom and Nathan Frazer (The Supersonic Duo) to win the gold.
Surprisingly, after so many months of Holland getting involved in shady methods to win matches and being somewhat duplicitous, this was a straight-up victory on Chase U’s behalf, with no shenanigans, foreign objects used or anything of that nature.

What a moment 👏
It's been a long and winding road back, but @AndreChaseWWE and #ChaseU are champions once again! 🙌 #WWENXT pic.twitter.com/6UVFfjgcqt

Interesting to note is that this also followed a backstage segment earlier in the night where Axiom and Nathan Frazer spoke about how they hadn’t been on the same page lately, being distracted by the WWE Speed tournament and other championships, but were now locked in and 100% focused on the tag team titles. Regardless of this re-energized mindset, they ended the night sulking on the floor, upset over losing their titles.
Whether or not that will result in them splitting as a team or any other fallout will be something we’ll have to find out next week or further down the line, along with whoever is next up to challenge the new tag team champions.
