WWE Bad Blood 2024 kicked off with the 53rd Hell in a Cell match as CM Punk and Drew McIntyre settled the score with their intense rivalry inside Satan’s Structure.
The two men pulled out all the tools in the toolbox for this match — or, at least, utilized the toolbox itself, as that being smashed on McIntyre’s head led to The Scottish Warrior donning a crimson max while Punk’s bloody face fell victim to a wrench attack, among other moments.
Both men nailed their finishers at various points, with Punk kicking out of Claymores and McIntyre refusing to be put down from the GTS or tap out to a Sharpshooter or the Anaconda Vise. Crashing through tables didn’t do the trick. A White Noise from McIntyre dropping The Second City Saint onto the steel steps also couldn’t pull it off.
Another noteworthy moment featured McIntyre pouring a bag of beads (the same ones used in Punk’s bracelet) on top of him, only to then slip and land back-first on the steel steps. This actually helped lead to the finale, where Punk shoved some of the beads in McIntyre’s mouth, opening up another opportunity for a GTS that scored him the victory.
Punk struggled to walk to the back on his own accord, collapsing at times and receiving help from the medical staff with some oxygen as McIntyre looked on while still in the ring before getting some help of his own.
