Carmelo Hayes’ attempt to get one over on Cody Rhodes proved to be in vain following this week’s episode of WWE RAW in Atlanta, Georgia.
In the show’s final segment, Rhodes came face to face with CM Punk who teased facing Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 41.
After the show, Rhodes was attacked by Carmelo Hayes, who declared himself for this weekend’s men’s Royal Rumble match.
Hayes set up a table but it was the former NXT World Champion who was powerbombed through the table by Rhodes in Cody’s hometown of Atlanta, GA.

Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship at this weekend’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view-event in a Ladder match against Kevin Owens.
