Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes would love to see Conor McGregor make his mark in WWE and believes the fighter would be a great fit.
On a recent edition of “The Schmo” podcast, Rhodes was asked about WWE and the UFC being partners in TKO and brought up the Irishman. He said,
“I’ll say that one person I’d love to see just dip his toes in the WWE would be Conor McGregor. The competition environment at WWE is different from what people might expect… Someone like him, who’s competed at the highest level in so many incredible fights, maybe it’s toe to explore the more entertainment side of sports. I think he’d be great at it.”
Over the years, McGregor has shared online interactions with WWE names, including a war of words with Paul Heyman in 2023.
McGregor went as far as to call out Roman Reigns for a match at WWE SummerSlam, though the match did not take place.
Since TKO launched, there has been cross-promotion between WWE and the UFC, with Michael Chandler calling out McGregor during an episode of WWE RAW in February.
This week, Rhodes also spoke about introducing interim UFC Champion Tom Aspinall at a recent WWE live event. Click here to find out more.
