As we reported on Friday here on eWn, Cody Rhodes’ tour bus caught fire prior to this weekend’s WWE WrestleMania 40 pay-per-view event. The fire happened very late Thursday night/early Friday AM.
While speaking on a recent edition of “The Pat McAfee Show,” the American Nightmare detailed his experience in dealing with the situation. He said,
“Last night [Thursday], 1 AM, laying in bed, all of a sudden, loud bang at the side of my bus. Thought it was a gunshot, climbed up, next thing I know my bus driver yells, ‘We gotta get off this bus it’s on fire!’ It didn’t burn to a crisp but it was up in a big fireball for a moment. I’m here this morning, non-flinching, I grabbed two things off my bus when I thought this is the end — I grab a photo of my daughter and wife, and my WrestleMania boots. There ain’t nobody here who is more ready for WrestleMania than me. We got a lot of stuff out of there, thankful for that. Here’s the only thing, the suits that I wear will — you know, there’s a smell off of them.“
Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill & Naomi defeated Damage CTRL at WWE WrestleMania 40 (Night One).
During the post-show media scrum, Jade Cargill commented on her conversation with Bianca Belair when she first decided to sign with WWE. She said,
“When I first signed here, the first person that reached out to me was Bianca, because people try to pin you against one another, and we both sat there and we were like, listen, we are both strong, dominant, black women, and what’s for her is what’s for her, and what’s for me is what’s for me, and we aren’t going to get in each other’s way, we are going to go out there and dominate, and it is what it is. And we understood that and we are all unique in our own way but we’re all similar in our own way as well.”
