Cody Rhodes returned to WWE after leaving AEW in 2022, but he stated that he did not have a specific plan when he parted ways with Tony Khan’s company.
Rhodes left AEW in February of that year and rejoined WWE at WrestleMania 38.
During a recent appearance on “The Flagrant Podcast,” Rhodes stated that contrary to what fans might believe, no strategy was in place at the time of his exit.
Cody said, “It looked like I had a plan to everybody else, it was a total bluff. I didn’t know what the plan was. I certainly could have gone back (to AEW), we could have figured that out and been fine. Something inside was pointing a different direction for me.”
During a recent appearance on the “Gorilla Position” podcast, Carmelo Hayes discussed representation in WWE.
Hayes asked about Triple H’s comments at the WWE Bad Blood 2024 media scrum where he said he doesn’t notice “the difference in anybody” and only sees talent.
Hayes said, “I don’t know, I think when you’re talented, you’re talented, and you’re gonna get an opportunity. I think all of us guys and girls are proving that we deserve all the opportunities, regardless of color, race, ethnicity, all of that.”
He added, “So what Hunter was saying was essentially cream rises to the top, and when you’re talented, you’re talented, period.”
