Damian Priest has no intentions of being a “transitional” WWE World Heavyweight Champion despite what Drew McIntyre may believe.
Priest won the title at WWE WrestleMania 40 (Night Two) after cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on McIntyre, who had dethroned Seth Rollins minutes earlier.
On a recent edition of WWE’s “The Bump,” Priest responded to McIntyre calling him a “transitional champion” on the post-WrestleMania episode of RAW. He said,
“I could care less what Drew says. Drew’s been talking for months. That’s all he does is talk. He forgot how to deliver. And that’s why he lost at WrestleMania and he lost on RAW.”
On this week’s edition of RAW, McIntyre lost in a fatal four-way match to determine Priest’s first challenger, admittedly due to CM Punk’s interference. Jey Uso would win the match instead.
