The “newest acquisition” to the Monday Night Raw roster, El Grande Americano, apparently has quite the legacy behind him, according to a vignette that aired on today’s episode.

Obviously, this is the gimmick Chad Gable has adopted for his new luchador persona, despite how he is denying it, going so far today as to give Raw General Manager Adam Pearce a doctor’s note claiming he was too sick to wrestle and offering that El Grande Americano could face Dragon Lee instead.
Later, in that match, Gable actually unmasked Dragon Lee and used that distraction to put him in an ankle lock for the win.
