During Saturday night’s WWE Money in the Bank 2024 pay-per-view event, Drew McIntyre captured the Money in the Bank briefcase after winning the ladder match against Andrade, Chad Gable, Carmelo Hayes, LA Knight and Jey Uso … only to already fail his cash-in just about an hour later.
As promised, McIntyre cashed in his contract during the World Heavyweight Championship match in an attempt to steal the title away from Damian Priest and Seth Rollins to offset what happened to him at WrestleMania XL.
Unfortunately for him, his rivalry with CM Punk reared its ugly head again as Punk came out, took advantage of the now No Disqualification rules from the Triple Threat match, and went after McIntyre. After an assault with a chair and a strike to the head with the title belt, Punk left McIntyre prime pickings for El Campeon, allowing Priest to score a pinfall over The Scottish Warrior and retain his title.
Now, Seth Rollins is also upset, as he’s lost his chance to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship as long as Priest is holding the title, as per the stipulation they agreed to on Monday Night RAW.
