Comedian Gabriel Iglesias believes WWE should’ve expected the negative response Hulk Hogan received on this week’s historic episode of RAW on Netflix.

During the show, Hogan was resoundingly booed by the fans as he spoke about his love for WWE and promoted his Real American Beer brand.

On a recent edition of “The Rich Eisen Show” podcast, Iglesias, who was a guest at this week’s RAW TV tapings, recalled what happened. He said,

“That was painful watching Hulk Hogan get booed last night. I’m like, ‘Wow.’ Yeah, from great to hate. That was ugly. That was ugly. But, I mean, at the same time — WWE should have known better.

“You know that Hulk Hogan’s been out there on this political train, trying to sell his beer and trying to be on the Trump train. So you take somebody like that and you put them in a blue state, in LA, what else was going to happen? That might be the reaction.”

Hogan himself has reportedly blamed the hostile response he received during RAW’s debut on Netflix as due to his political beliefs.

Hulk Hogan was fired from WWE in 2015 after racist comments came to light, including being disgusted at “f****** n*****s” dating his daughter.

On the show, Iglesias had a backstage segment with The New Day. His Netflix special Legend of Fluffy debuted on the platform this week.

Hogan has been featured in promotional material for this month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event but has yet to be confirmed for a live appearance.
