Lexis King defeated Charlie Dempsey to win the NXT Heritage Cup at WWE NXT New Year’s Evil 2025, and as it was before when he thought he won the championship on the Christmas Eve episode, there was some dispute regarding the finish.
King head-butted Dempsey in the groin before delivering his Cross-Arm Twisting Neckbreaker for the win.
King was declared the NXT Heritage Cup Champion again.

Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle confronted The New Day backstage during the Netflix premiere episode of WWE RAW.
The episode featured the two stars from Boy Meets World, and WWE shared a backstage clip of their encounter with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.
Woods and Kingston greeted the two, but Fishel dismissed them, saying, “New Day sucks!” before walking away, and Friedle also left after noting, “She’s right.”
Woods later tweeted, “January 6th, 2025. You people turned Topanga against me. Unforgivable.”
Kingston wrote, “Never meet your heroes.”
