On a recent edition of the “Rewind, Recap, Relive” podcast, former WWE star Hornswoggle recalled winning the Cruiserweight title in 2007. He said,
“I come home with the title; the first people I showed were my dad and my grandpa… It’s something I’ll hold dearly for the rest of my life.”
Hornswoggle wouldn’t just win the gold, but would be the final Cruiserweight Championship for close to a decade before the title was reintroduced in 2016.
On the podcast, Hornswoggle shared how his title reign was just as unlikely as his entire career in the pro wrestling business. He said,
“I talk about it all the time; I should have never made it in this business. So, to be able to get a job with WWE is incredible. To be on my first WrestleMania is unreal.”
Hornswoggle’s reign with the gold would begin at the Great American Bash 2007 pay-per-view event. His reign was ended after 68 days by Vickie Guerrero.
