Drew McIntyre suffered a legitimate head injury at WWE Bad Blood 2024 when CM Punk hit him with a toolbox, resulting in a wound that needed sixteen stitches to close.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that only CM Punk, not McIntyre, was supposed to bleed in the match. Due to the severity of the wound and the continuous bleeding, WWE officials were concerned backstage and at ringside.
Although there were discussions about stopping the bleeding, they decided against it because it was a Hell In A Cell match.
McIntyre ultimately decided to continue the match and assured that they would end it immediately if he felt unwell.
McIntyre showed no signs of a concussion despite the injury and remained “very aware” and “in control” throughout the match.
