During a recent appearance on the “Ring The Belle” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jacqueline recalled becoming the first African American woman to win the WWE Women’s Championship.
Jacqueline defeated Sable to win the vacant title in September 1998.
Jacqueline said, “Yes, but not only that, I made history. I was the first African-American women champion of WWF. So yeah, that was a special moment.” She added, “I mean, it was a special moment. I was very happy. I was very delighted. It meant a lot. It was a very moment. I will never forget that.”
Sable later won the title from Jacqueline at WWE Survivor Series 1998.
During a recent edition of “WWE Tattooed,” Kevin Owens revealed what inspired him to get his first tattoo, noting that he waited until he understood he could earn a living from wrestling.
Owens said, “I was pretty young when I decided I wanted tattoos, but I didn’t wanna get any tattoos before I knew for a fact that I was gonna make a living as a wrestler. Because at the time, back when I was young, There was this thing, right? Like, ‘oh, you can’t get tattoos all over you. It’s going to hinder your chances to get some jobs,’ this and that.”
