Javier Bernal has announced an approximate absence of six months due to sustaining a broken foot during the latest NXT Level Up TV tapings.

Bernal has indicated that the injury will necessitate surgery.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Bernal elaborated further on the nature of the injury and expressed his resolve to make a full recovery. He wrote,

“First, I’d like to say I have the best fans, the best friends, and the best fiancée in the world. The outpouring of love I’ve received this week has filled my heart with joy in a time I find myself feeling in peril. You guys have gotten me through this week, and I’m certain will help me to my journey back.

For those that missed it, I have a few fractured bones in my foot after last night’s Level Up. Initially, we thought surgery was not going to be necessary but have found out that surgery is more than likely what I’ll need to do. Gutted that I’m here, but I want to make one thing clear:

Day in and day out, I bust my a*s to give you the best experience I can give within my power. As upset, frustrated, and as scared as I am right now, I am also excited. I’m excited because I have a chance to give you something, someone, to believe in. @WWE is all about giving you a hero, someone to look up to. I looked up to quite a few people, and quite a few of my heroes had these experiences. So now it’s my turn.

I promise you, I will give you something to believe in.”

As we previously reported here on eWn, Drew McIntyre expressed his belief in Joe Hendry and commended the TNA star for his work, which Hendry graciously appreciated.

Subsequently, in a recent interview with Cultaholic, the mutual admiration persisted as Hendry lauded McIntyre following their collaboration on the independent scene. He said,

“He was such a leader inside the ring and outside the ring … So for him to say that about me, it means an incredible amount.”

McIntyre replied, I appreciate the kind words but I’ve never called myself a locker-room leader. I’ve never felt the need to. I turn up. I do the best job I can. I offer advice to those who ask for it. And then there’s our Champion who can’t control 3 people in his own stable and the other guy who’s only ever took from our industry.

Bryan Danielson recently expressed his interest in participating in another legitimate fight before hanging up his boots later this year.

In response to this, Tom Lawlor has extended a challenge to Bryan for an MMA fight.

Lawlor wrote, As another man willing to get in to a legitimate fight, I hereby challenge @bryandanielson to a mixed martial arts fight. Let’s have some fun!
