During a recent appearance on the “Insight With Chris Van Vliet” podcast, JD McDonagh commented on looking up to Finn Balor as an inspiration, Lyra Valkyria’s rise in WWE, and more.

On looking up to Finn Balor: “Sheamus was the first guy that, certainly for my generation, the first guy that broke out of Ireland, broke into the States. But that wasn’t really a huge help to me because he also was 6’4” and looked like a Celtic Warrior. The guy that made me stop and go, oh this is a possibility, was Finn [Balor]. He was walking that path ahead of me … he was just another guy from Bray that came through the same school I did, the same mats.”
On Lyra Valkyria: “She’s killing it. She’s the IC Champion of the world. I love that girl, she’s awesome.”
Wendi Richter is hoping that Cyndi Lauper will eventually be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Despite being part of the WWE Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Connection in the ’80s, Lauper has yet to receive an induction into the Celebrity Wing of the Hall of Fame. Richter shared her thoughts on the matter during a recent appearance on the “Ring the Belle” podcast.

On “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” being her entrance song: “I still love that song. Years later, I was still going out to the ring to that song, they [the fans] knew that song, they knew who was coming out. I think it will always be [popular], it’s fun. Just having Cyndi Lauper, that’s all I needed [to get a reaction].”
On Lauper not being in the Hall of Fame: “I’m just hoping that someday she’ll be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the celebrity division. I mean she’s done more for wrestling than any celebrity has, so it just has to be that it hasn’t been good timing for her.”
